The Lifecycle Continues
Back in 2011 photographer Rob Lutter left England to embark on a round-the-world bicycle trip. Since then he has logged over 9,000 miles, crossed 21 borders and raised over $2,000 through his page on the non-profit global aid site, charity:water.
He’s travelled across deserts and over mountains, seen how people and cultures differ across the globe, and discovered something slightly more high-tech, Instagram.
Just like everyone else, Rob took his iPhone along for the trip and uploaded his first photo to the site on the 10th of December 2011. He’s racked over 7,000 followers since.
“The support from people around the world was incredible,” he says in an interview posted to the Instagram blog. “Messages of encouragement would arrive every other day and there were times when I’d cycle longer and further just to reach a town in an attempt to get some Wi-Fi, to connect to Instagram! It became a positive obsession of mine.”
Currently preparing for the next portion of his trip, around Australia, you’ve still got plenty of time to follow his journey (just be prepared to feel jealous), but in the meantime take a look at his stunning photos here.
